In 2018 he experienced an accident that caused his left lung to collapse which in his words, “Was the best thing to ever happen to him”. Along the journey of reconnecting with his breath, James found the art of African drumming which has become a pivotal tool in his healing journey. James believes that music, sound, and the rhythms of the African diaspora can help balance the energies within the body and can provide aid in conquering the hurdles throughout his community. James recognizes these hurdles are far more detrimental to our youth. As the oldest sibling of 3, mentoring and guiding the youth has always been a driving force throughout James’s life.
